How many accessible units you need
Under the ADA accessibility standards, when portable toilets are grouped together, at least 5 percent of them (and never fewer than one) should be accessible. For most events that means one ADA unit, and about one in twenty for large crowds.
Your event permit may ask for more, so check its conditions. And apart from the rules, an accessible unit is the one someone in a wheelchair or using a walker can use. Parents with small children tend to pick it too.

Where units are split into separate banks, each bank should have an accessible one. Your permit may ask for more.
An accessible unit nobody can reach
Renting the unit is the easy part. The mistake we see is placement. The accessible unit gets parked on gravel, or on a slope, or behind a run of cables, and a wheelchair can't get to it.
Give it a firm, level path from the main area and a flat pad for the unit itself. Keep the space in front of the door clear, and put it with the other units so nobody has to hunt for it.
